You are encouraged to complete your courses as soon as possible, as courses are updated regularly.  Please review the accreditation and course approval information on the inside cover of the test booklet.  Certain accrediting bodies issue course expiration dates.  We consider the content of our courses to be timely and accurate for 2 years.  We will honor course completions for 2 years from date of purchase unless the professional accrediting body has issued an expiration date.  AKH attempts to renew all approvals prior to their expiration.

Passing Score:

AKH Inc. considers a score of 70% or better as passing (unless indicated on post-test).  If you score below the required passing score, you will be issued an answer sheet that highlights the questions you missed; you must re-take only the questions you missed.  This is a one-time service only, at no charge.

Reporting of Continuing Education Credit:

The healthcare professional is responsible for their licensure.  You should always retain your certificate for 4-5 years as proof of completion and send copies to your governing body as required. 

In most cases it is the healthcare professional’s responsibility for reporting CE credit to their boards of professional licensure or certification. 

For certain professionals, AKH Inc. is required to submit a completions report monthly.  This includes:

·         CRNAs – For AANA approved courses, AKH reports completions once a month.

·         Florida Radiology Professionals – AKH provides a report twice a month to the FL Bureau of Radiation Control for Radiology Professionals who have completed continuing education in the preceding 2 weeks, this report is compiled and submitted on the 5^th and 20^th of each month

·         Florida Nurses – AKH reports completions of the mandatory courses (HIV/AIDS, Domestic Violence, Preventing Medical Errors) monthly to CEBroker.

·         Florida CSW/MFT/MHC, Occupational Therapists, Laboratory Professionals, Speech Language Pathologists – AKH reports completions of all approved programs, monthly to CEBroker.

·         Florida Pharmacists – AKH reports completions of the mandatory HIV/AIDS courses.

·         Florida Physical Therapists/Physical Therapy Assistants – AKH reports completions of all approved programs to the Florida PT Association monthly.

·         Kansas Physical Therapists/Physical Therapy Assistants – AKH reports completions of all approved programs (LIVE only) to the Kansas PT Association monthly.

Refunds:

If you need to return a course, a refund is available within 30 days of purchase date.  All course material must be returned in unused (audio/video tapes un-opened) condition.  Refunds minus a $10.00 re-shelving fee are on the cost of the course only (original S&H is not refundable).

Please notify us of any address or name changes as soon as possible, we will need the original and new order name and addresses to update your record in our database.

Shipping and Handling:

S & H fees - First course: $5.00.  Each additional course: $1.50.

Standard - AKH ships all courses via First Class Mail, the same working day we receive your order, Monday through Friday, 9:30-5pm Eastern Time, excluding holidays.  

Overnight Delivery - For faster delivery in the United States add $17.00 for next business afternoon service; $22.00 for next business morning service, and $27.00 for Sat/Sun/Holiday delivery. Be advised that some of these services may not be available in outlying areas. Ask your customer service person to check availability. A street address and telephone number is required.

Course Requirements:

 Complete & return the post-test and evaluation form. (All courses are self-study, open-book).

Tests:

All courses have an open-book test.  Unless specifically noted, a 70% passing grade is required to receive a certificate.  Unless specifically noted, one (1) retest is available.

Shared Learning:

Some AKH Inc. courses include books or videos by major publishers that you can keep in your personal library after you earn your certificate.  However, you can order a "Quiz-only Packet" if one of your friends or co-workers already has the book or video.  By studying from the borrowed text, you will be able to earn CE hours at half the current cost of the complete course (to a minimum of $25.00).

Dual Professions:

If you are a healthcare professional licensed in two different professions (lab, radiology, nursing, PT), the charge for CE Credit for a second license is $4.00 per course.  Both licenses must be noted on the order.  CE hours and prices may vary by profession.

Certificates of Completion:

Your certificate is processed and mailed the day of test/evaluation receipt (Monday through Friday).  Certificates are dated according to the mail date (postmark) on the envelope, or the fax receipt date.   AKH INC. DOES NOT SEND CERTIFICATES DIRECTLY TO BOARDS OF PROFESSIONAL REGULATION.  We strongly encourage our customers to make copies of their certificates to send to their boards and keep the original for future reference.

Duplicate Certificates:

Lost or misplaced your certificate?  f you require a duplicate certificate we will provide one to you, the fee is $2.00 per certificate.  Please note that duplicate certificates will be stamped "copy". 

FAX Service:

For faster service, you may fax your completed post-tests, and evaluations 24 hours a day.  Tests are processed within 24 hours of receipt.  For a fee we will fax a copy of your certificate back to you.  The fee is $4.00 for the first certificate and $2.00 for each additional certificate.  Please include credit card number, expiration date, and your fax number with your request.
