AKH Inc., formerly known as AKH Consultant, was established in the 1980s in Jacksonville, FL, , providing continuing education monographs and classes for nurses in the state of Florida; a service that quickly expanded throughout the United States. In addition to its nursing focus, many health care professionals in Florida including physical therapists, laboratory professionals, and radiology technologists and technicians relied on AKH Consultant as their source of quality continuing education.
In 1997, AKH Consultant was acquired by Helen Holman Consulting, Inc. Its owners, Helen and Jon Holman expanded the company’s services to include the provision of nationally accredited continuing education for pharmacists, physicians, and nurse practitioners and nurses.
In 2004, the company's name was officially changed to AKH Inc., Advancing Knowledge in Healthcare to clarify its mission and commitment to healthcare professionals nationwide. Today, through its national accreditation status with the American Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP), and the American Psychology Association (APA) AKH Inc. is a respected provider of certified continuing education.
